The Kentucky World Equestrian Games (Games) is the common name used to refer to the Alltech FEI World Equestrian GamesTM 2010 Kentucky. The Games will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington Kentucky for 16 days beginning September 25, 2010. The Games are expected to bring more then 300,000 spectators from around the world. The competitors will number some 800 with more then 1000 horses involved from more then 50 countries. This will be the first time the FEI World Equestrian Games have been hosted outside of Europe.
The FEI World Equestrian Games are now an 8 equestrian discipline World Championship that is held every four years with the first being 1990 in Stockholm, Sweden. The 8 disciplines are combined driving, dressage, endurance riding, eventing, paraequestrianism, reining, show jumping, and vaulting. Germany holds the current high metal count with a total of 46, 21 of those Gold not including those from the 1990 FEI World Equestrian Games when Germany was still divided.
